The Centre is raising funds for two senior Islamic Studies scholars at the professorial level. A total of NZ $10 million will be needed for an endowment trust that will fund the two chairs in perpetuity. This will allow the Centre to be financially viable on an ongoing basis. It is also expected that the appointed scholars will attract additional New Zealand and overseas funding.

In addition to the professorial chair funding it is hoped that countries across the region and beyond will establish scholarships for students from the region and further a field to come to study Islam in New Zealand.
